The Ritz-Carlton Executive Master Chef and Washburne Culinary Institue Head Join American Hospitality Academy Philippines’ Advisory Board

Chef Gene Cordova, president of the American Hospitality Academy Philippines, and Dr. Corazon Gatchalian, chair of the school’s international advisory board announce the latest addition to the Academy’s roster of distinguished board of advisers.

Chef John Johnstone, CMC, is the executive chef of The Ritz Carlton in Naples , Florida . He holds the distinction of being one of only fifty two (52) master chefs in the U.S. certified by the American Culinary Federation. An epitome of a professional chef, he believes in the potential of Filipinos to excel in the field of culinary arts and has expressed his all-out support and guidance in helping students build a career as chefs. Chef Johnstone will contribute to AHA Philippines' curriculum development by sharing the hotel's recipes with the students. He will be in the Philippines during the last quarter of this year to conduct classes under the school's Visiting Chefs Program .

Chef William “Bill” N. Reynolds, is the provost of the Washburne Culinary Institute (WCI) in Chicago . Established in 1937, WCI holds the distinction of being the oldest culinary institute in the United States . Chef Bill has 36 years of culinary experience, occupying various positions as chef instructor, consultant, restaurant chef and later as vice president of the renowned Culinary Institute of America (CIA) . Credited for setting up CIA's continuing education facility in its Greystone campus in Napa Valley , California , Chef Bill has shared his passion for food, food trends and culinary education to students, practitioners and audiences across continents during his numerous travels all over the world. He also appears in the television series “ Cooking Secrets of the CIA”. He expressed his commitment in providing guidance in the school's quest for culinary distinction.

These two culinary luminaries gave their commitment to support AHA Philippines' program during a recent visit to the U.S. by Cordova and Gatchalian.
